River Oaks takes seriously its mission to bring contemporary art and fine crafts to the Central Louisiana community. During the course of a year, sixteen exhibits are held in several galleries on the grounds.

The Bolton Davis Gallery named in honor of Fran Bolton Davis and Dr. Paul M. Davis for their years of service and support given to River Oaks, is located on the first floor of the Studio Annex Building and is reserved for regional artists.

The smaller gallery, Gallery des Amis (Gallery of Friends), located on the second floor of the Annex, features recent works by Resident Artists. Each Resident Artist exhibits in the space at least once during a period of approximately three years.
