River Oaks Square Arts Center is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Support for the operations and programs of River Oaks is provided by memberships from our friends and patrons, donations from area businesses, corporate grants, the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Arts Council of Central Louisiana and the City of Alexandria.

The Van Gogh Gala is held in early fall and it benefits the organization. Dozens of volunteers from the Central Louisiana community work directly with River Oaks Resident Artists to produce art that is auctioned off to the highest bidder at the annual event.

The live auctions of the last several years have created wonderful opportunities for buying and collecting contemporary art. When added to revenues from Van Gogh ticket sales, this winning combination truly makes for River Oaks fund-raising at its best!

Other fundraisers that benefit the facility include the “Men Who Cook for River Oaks Fundraiser,” which involves area men that prepare their special recipes for tasting.

Friends of River Oaks receive event mailings and special discounts on purchases, registrations and fees.
