River Oaks Art Center provides year-long ceramics and painting programming for developmentally disabled and elderly clients within our community. These Outreach Programs affect over 150 students annually, providing creative outlets in an external environment is the primary mission, however the true value of this particular program lies in the process, giving individuals with unique needs the opportunity for success, using art projects as a catalyst. For over ten years, The Center has worked with Rapides ARC, Pecan Grove Training Centers, Evergreen Life Services, OLS Community, and Bolton SPED while recently expanding our elderly education series to Matthews Memorial Health Care Facility and Naomi Heights Nursing Home. Art For All Outreach programs expanded in
 2023 to included additional facilities where these art therapy sessions of creative painting, drawing and ceramic design can be implemented.
