River Oaks Square Arts Center Receives National Endowment for the Arts Grant

 

Grant to support art exhibitions and workshops featuring contemporary visual art and fine crafts.

 
Alexandria, Louisiana— River Oaks Square Arts Center has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to support the promotion of its art exhibits, events and workshops taught by nationally recognized professional artists.
 
“The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support the excellence and diversity of arts programs across the country, including organizations like River Oaks, that make the arts accessible to people in Central Louisiana and further enhances the vitality of their community,” said NEA Chairman Jane Chu.
 
 “With a plethora of exhibitions and events being offered, River Oaks has become a distinct cultural component of our community.” stated Rachael Dauzat, Executive Director.
 
Over the past three years, River Oaks has showcased the works of over 500 visual artists with 26 exhibitions and workshops.  During 2017/2018, River Oaks will feature well over 300 visual artists.
 
The NEA is the federal agency that supports and funds the arts to give all Americans the opportunity to experience creativity and participate in the arts.
